Exclamation Getting frustrated with a transparency issue!

I am creating a CD label using Nero. I simply want to use Photoshop to save an image with a transparent background so that I may import it onto my label. However, everytime I bring the image into Nero (or any other program), it has a white background that I am unable to get rid of. How do I save a Photoshop file with a transparent background so that it may be used in other programs? Thank you!

Adam

Open your image and go File>Save for web
Then save as a GIF or PNG. These will hold transparency, JPG will not.

If your version of Photoshop is like mine right now and Save for web is not working, you can also go File>Save as and under Format choose GIF, etc.

Try that.

Yea, png would be the best way. Make sure in the preview that the white parts have that checkered pattern, thats the area that will be transparent.

It is true that GIF and PNG both support transparancy, however the most Standard filetype you could use is TIFF. It will be bigger in filesize, but is is the most common Bitmap file for press/print.
