gif with transparency
hello,
i'm using photoshop elements 2 and have in the past not usually had trouble making a gif with a transparent background, but for some reason i just can't get it to work now. i have an image with various layers and one gray layer who's color doesn't appear in any other layer. i select 'save for web', choose 'gif' and then select the gray color as the matte color and check 'transparency'. click ok, upload the pic, right-click / refresh the page and instead of a transparent bground i see the gray color. what might be the problem? thank you |

have you tried selecting none for the matte?

yes, selecting none just makes the background white, which may sound like it's working but it isn't, as there's an image directly behind that image. this is really annoying
![]() thanks for any help |

remove the layer with the "gray fill" and save as a transparent gif.
