how can i do this?

i have taken several hundreds pictures from a party.

i want a text like : "taken by me, copyright me"
to be displayed in the picture,
(its good if i could choose the x and y position to be displayed too).

is there any programs/software that can do this with 1 click?
or do i need to manually go through all hundres of pictures?

thank you very much!

What you can do is to first create an action, then use the Automate > Batch menu to repeat the action on all of your files.

Word of advise: your best bet is to only post screen resolution photos on your site, and force a login to download high res. There is very little someone can do with an image resized to fit on a thumbs gallery. Putting the "©Me, Myself and I" message distracts the eye from the subject and can cheapen the overall appearance of the site.

I personally think it's silly when I see personal websites where a guy has pictures of his friends and a © notice on the pictures. But your site may be different.

If you need detailed help on how to do this (creating actions, batches), just ask.

By the way, it would look better if you made the copyright info somewhat transparent, that way it doesn't distract from the photo like the other guy was saying.

Oh, now that I think about it, I don't know if you can run an action that will place the text in a certain area (I'm assuming you want to put this in the bottom right corner) like you're requesting. If you do find a solution, or someone else does, plus post it.

Peace and good luck!

Last word of advise: putting the terms "Copyright Me" or "© Me" doesn't copyright it. To copyright something, you need to submit formal paperwork and pay a fee.

But the "Copyright Me" may warn people that this photo is yours and may not be used by others for commercial purposes.

All depends on the type of pics you have on your site.

actually it does copyright it. the second you take the image, it becomes yours, plain and simple. When does a copyright begin? "Today, it begins at the moment of fixation in a tangible medium of expression and ends at the expiration of 70 years after the death of the author." that "tangible medium" can include a CD, compact flash card, hard disk drive, etc.

Correct. You dont need paperwork for copyrights. Patents, trademarks, etc. yes. Copyrights, no.

anyway do a search on watermarks..

Let's take into consideration the following statement:

"i have taken several hundreds pictures from a party."

One can infer from this statement that pictures were possibly taken both inside and outside and on private property (unless the party was at a park or other public place).

In that case, the photographs can never be used commercially without implied written consent from the owner of the land AND all people in the picture. If the pictures were taken indoors, anyone in any of the pictures can immediately demand the picture be removed from a place of public viewing (such as a web site) or possibly take the photographer to court for illegally using a picture. Now, this probably wouldn't happen except in a circumstance where the subject was clearly doing something that places them in a moral dilemma, such as underage drinking, sex or nudity or drug use.

gthomas5 is correct. The moment you create something it is technically copyrighted. No forms necessary UNLESS it goes to court. Then the forms become absolutely essential (after all, saying "Your honor, I created this 6 years ago with no proof that I created it and I would never lie" doesn't cut it in court-they want proof, and a formal copyright form does the trick!).
