How Can I put links on an image??

Fellas please advise. How can I put links on an image wthout making the image a backgroung or without making the image itself the link? I have an image(big enough) that I would like to put in my project and then use it's parts as links. Is this possible?
Thanks for any help.

Ive never done it, but I think you have to use 'slicing' for that. Hopefully someone else that has more knowledge in the subject can help you out. But until then, look into slicing.

Use the slice tool and then Save for Web...
Photoshop will save an HTML file for you with all reference images (sliced).

SO I should portion out the sparate parts of the pic and save them as slices and each one of them behaves as if it is a separate entity? If you are saying that is how I should do it, then most of my problems will be solved. P'se clarify on that. Thanks ~*~ and cger!

Why dont u just get a pixel font and put it on the image, rather then going into slicing.

Can you elaborate what that (pixel font) means?

Hmm, mmaybe a font, that you download, and install... you can download a pack with 40 or so from my site, http://insanepixel.com/fonts.php scroll to the bottom. Install the fonts to C:\WINDOWS\Fonts and then open a word editor, or photoshop and look in the font menu, you it will be in there.
