How do I do a wave-like design

I wanted to add a wavelike image to my header but I don't know how to do that. Can someone help and show me. The sort of wave I want to do is attached and I am using Macromedia Fireworks.

Please see attached: I just want one of the waves

using the pen tool to create a pth and stroking it w/ an appropriate brush would seem the easiest answer.

if you click and drag you can set up a curve point for your path. if you click and drag at the end, you'll set up another and by manipulating the "handles" that come off them you can create smooth sine wave shapes etc.

buncha tutorials out on the net, like this

Here's a very simpler way. Just take the pen tool and mark a few points and connect the last one to fill the shape. After that you can use the convert point tool to touch up the curves. To change the color of the shape just double click on the layer thumbnail and choose the color.
