How do u make a whole in an image in fireworks i.e a search box

Hi everyone

this is really an adobe fireworks question but since fireworks as not been allocated it's own forumn and photoshop is so similar to fireworks, i thought i would try my luck here.

i built an image of a search box in fireworks. i now want to transfer that image and place it over the actual html imput imput field.

My question therefore is this;

when building an image in fireworks, how do u make a whole in the middle of the image.
