How to Make wavy edges

How can I make a wavy shape/line (it is snakelike vertical/horizontal). I use fireworks but I couldnt get the shape to curve in and out. Please if anybody knows how I can do this: advise me. Thanks a lot

I would suggest browsing the custom shapes. Click on the small > and select All. While there's not just a wave available as you requested, there are shapes with incorporated waves of which you could easily rasterize and erase undesired elements.

Using the pen tool, make a straight line (hint: hold down the shift key to keep the line straight.)

Using the Pen+ tool, add some points.

Using the Direct Select tool (the white arrow) move the points zig and zag.

Using the tool that looks like a < or a ^, click on the arrow points and make your curves.

Then go to the Path pallet and stroke the path.
