how to render sea foam?

Does anyone know a good technique or a brush that will render "sea foam" or bubbles? I have a composite of an island sitting on calm ocean water, and need a foamy edge around the island to transition between the two elements.

Realistic or stylized? I have a technique for graphic bubbles, but it may not be what you want. Here's a sample image:

The Photoshop 7 splash screen contains just what you're looking for. I wonder if it was created in PS or photographed.

This might be a good excuse for you to take a trip to the Caribbean! Or, I'd be happy to make the photo for you. Just pay my way. I can leave tomorrow.

There's a book on Amazon containing techniques on how to produce those kind of textures.
Book here

Any help?
Ebonny
