I am creating some .jpg buttons in photoshop. At first, I could create a button and then do an <img src="location"> and the image would show up. But for some reason, now when I create a button and save it as a jpeg, and then do the <img src="location"> the image won't display. And I am positive it is looking in the right place for the image.
What I have to do is save the button as a .jpg and then copy that .jpg image and paste it over an old .jpg button that I have previously made that would show up. I would save it as the new button name then. After doing that then I can see the new button created. I don't know if it is the way I am creating or saving the .jpg's that is doing this, or if I accidentially changed a setting in Photoshop. I hope this isn't too confusing! Thanks in advanced!!! |

I am sorry for the confusion!
I previously created some .jpg images, and when they I displayed them on the website they showed up. Now I am creating more .jpg images, but they won't show up and I get the white box with a red X in it. So what I have to do is after a I create a new .jpg image, I copy it. Then I open up one of the .jpg images that I previoiusly created that worked (showed up). After opening it, I then delete that image and then paste the new .jpg image that i just made. Then I do a Save As and save the .jpg image witht the new image name. After doing all this, then when I go back into the website the images will display. I hope this helps! |

sounds like you're using the wrong names for the images..?

webguy might be right. Check your file names for case differences. Image.jpg is different from image.jpg. While it may not make a difference on your home system, the web server may disagree. How about a link so we can check it out?

try using .png instead of .jpg, or atleast .gif's
the smaller the filesize, the faster the load ![]() |

Sorry, but I don't have a link currently to check it out.
I am sure the names are the same as far as lower and upper case. It seems like the new .jpg's are corrupted (if even possible) because all I have to do is take the "corrupted" .jpg and copy its image and paste it into a old .jpg that displayed and save it with the new name and it works. I know it sounds like I am making a simple typo error, but I am positive that the names are identical because I have went over it many times. Thanks for your help!!!!!! |

alright.. try something.
Make a new image, and add it to the website. Now it shouldn't come up right.. So, right click on the empty image place holder and select image properties from the popup menu. Copy the url and paste it into the address bar, hit enter. Do you see the image now? If you don't then this probably means your not using the correct image path and/or name. A .Jpeg is different from .Jpg, so if your image points to a .Jpg file but your image is actually a .Jpeg file, it won't work. Also try this with your buttons, see what happens..? |

Ok, I did that however I can't right click on the image and get the url because it is a <asp:ImageButton> and all it says in properties is the link it points to. However, I did just manually type the address of the image in the browser and it doesn't show up.
