Magic Wand?
Using PS CS and XP
I have several photographs of objetcs like chairs, stools. lamps and i need to remove (make transparent) the whole background so the object can be used as a logo or icon. I was thinking of using the wand and delete area or inversing the selection to remove unwanted background. Is there a better or faster technique or method? Thank you |

Better: the pen tool
Faster: magic wand, magnetic lasso There are some third-party plugins to fine tune your work |

Your best bet is quick mask mode. hit Q to enter, then use the pen and eraser tool to "draw" a selection. your selection will appear in transparent red. Then hit Q again, and your "drawn" area will convert itself to a selection! Have fun and good luck.

Pen is the easiest and best looking. Take the time to learn the tool... once you learn it, you're invincible...
