My Illustrator won't start up.

It seems that Illustrator won't start up sometimes. I have a lot of fonts installed (over 4000). Could this be the problem?

lol, this is hilarious, if your on windows thats a crock, because windows wont support that many fonts, so I hope your on a Mac! Plus, how do you manage a font list that big, and that can be one problem, as well as to many shapes, da da da bad file types, incorrect registries, pirated version of illustrator and much more!

I used to have a Mac LC (11 years ago) and I think its more stable than my current WinXP machine. I loved that thing. So many classic games on there

It's ridulous to have that many fonts. Windows performance drops noticeably when you have over 500 fonts.

What you should do is create font sets that you can load as needed. After you create your document, change all fonts to Outlines, save a new copy and be on your merry way.

You can't possibly expect printers or web users to have the same 4000 fonts installed that you're currently using.

Ive been a designer for 7 years now since i was 11 and I have never gone over 50 fonts minus the defaults, its odd that you would have so many fonts, if you were to add up the fonts on my laptops, and desktops 2 macs 2 intels you wouldnt go over 350 total including the defaults!

Good designers don't need fancy fonts to make great designs.
