i don't really think that's a filter (i could be wrong tho)...just draw a few lines on a new layer, then copy and drop them in the proper place. it's kind of a pain, but i'm not sure how else you would do it. play with the colours, opacity etc, to get the desired effect.

hope that helps.

I doubt that that image was created by manually applying lines. I also don't think it's a filter. I don't use Photoshop all that often but it looks like it could possibly be a pattern overlay. You can add your own patterns as well, that person may have done that, or they used one that came with their software. If you don't know how to add a pattern overlay, right click on a Layer and go to Blending Properties, in the windows that pops up there will be a button where you can click on Pattern Overlay, and set it up accordingly.

1. create a new layer
2. create 1-pixel lines with the 1-px line tool and fill them with white color.
3. change the opacity of the lines layer to about 25%.
4. Rotate the layer 45 degrees.

Thats it!

Its really simple to achieve in Fireworks MX. Simply take your initial picture, draw a white rectangle over it with a fill texture such as 'line-diag-1' and reduce the opacity of the rectangle until you achieve the desired effect.

There must be something similar available in Photoshop. I own a copy but have never used it, always used Fireworks.

Hope this helps anyway,
Duncan

Smile It's Simple man. I've made the pattern for u

Hi buddy, It's very simple to do it. I've done it earlier.

Create a transparent image 5 pixels width and height and zoom it to the maximum(cntrl and "+"). select black as your foreground colour. dont draw the diagonal line using the line tool. this is because it will add colour to certain pixxels around it. instead select those 5 diagonal pixels from bottom left to top right using Rectangular marquee tool and press (cntrl + backspace) this will fill the pixel with black. when u r finished with the line, press cntrl+A to select all and define it as a pattern from Edit>Define Pattern.

I've done it for you. I've described how to do it for your information. Any way i've attached the pattern file here.

All you need to do is, copy this patten file into your patterns directory(Usually this is in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS\Presets\Patterns". If you have installed photoshop else where, then find it.).

Open the file u need to apply the texture.
Create a new layer.
select the area you need to apply the pattern.
Right Click, select fill> Patterns.
In the Dialogue box to select Pattern click on the small arrow pointing right and select load pattern and select the pattern file you pasted in that directory. Select the pattern and you are done.

If you need a transparent pattern, set the opacity of the required amt, and if u need to change the colour of the pattern, u can easily do so by setting a colour overlay in blending options.

Hope this will help you.

Febin

PS. If this helped you, Plz add to my reputation.

Take Care.

I also have a few grid line files that I have saved over time.. PM me and I'll e-mail you one... you can just add it to your image as a layer and mess with the opacity.

Good Lukc
