Need help with photoshop.
Ok i am kind of a newbie/ novice at photoshop but now my photoshop teacher says we have to move on to more advanced photoshop techniques and right now my current assignment is to create a planet on photoshop that looks real and for goodness sakes im having trouble with step one man. ok this is what im having trouble with on step one: Create a new transparent layer. i know how to create layers and stuff like that but i dont know wht it means by transparent layer.
Please help |

A new transparent is what's created by default, as a layer without content is basically invisible. If you hide all other layers (using the eye to the left of each layer) and leave your new layer, the canvas should be a gray and white checkered background. That means the layer is transparent (or empty, more accurately), as that checkered background is behind all layers.

I held down all the tools ion the toolbars to try to find a certain one but i cant find the airbrush tool now.
Someone mind uploading a picture of the airbrush tool? |

There's no such thing as the 'airbrush' tool, you're looking for the brush tool with a brush that works like an airbrush. The brush tool is selected in the below screenshot - it might appear as a pencil for you, though, in which case you have to right click on it to access the brush. This is Photoshop CS3, it might look a little bit different in earlier versions.

thank you xenus i owe you. It's just i have to present this to my class next week and it's a lot harder than our other previous photoshops. She said if anyone can do it in like 10 seconds basically ill fail so i am using this photoshop tutorial to make a realistic planet for the class.

i have a better idea i found the websight where i printed the tutorial and maybe somecone can helpe if they read it for them selfs.
heres the link: http://www.biorust.com/tutorials/detail/49/en/ I am currently on step3 where it tells me how to load up this texture and i know how to bring up the squigly lines but i dont know how to load up the brush presets. Please help |
