need help with vector in photoshop
what tools in photoshop or imageready are actualy vector?
when i draw shapes and zoom in they are pixalized at the edges. not like Flash. and is there an option in PS where it automaticly smooths lines while drawing like in flash does? why are flash tool eaiser for vector? thanks |

photoshop/imageready are pixel based ... if you want vector, you're going to need to use illustrator.
as far as flash vs photoshop, you're talking apples and watermelons. photoshop was originally used mainly for print publication, before the boom of the internet. |

Actually Photoshop DOES have the pen tool which is vector based and very much like Illustrator's pen tool, and shape tools which are basically vector-based path tools until you fill them with color.
Look at your tool palette on the right side under the Text tool. That rectangle is a shape tool. Click it to choose another shape (PS comes with LOTS of vector shapes, but you'll have to load them in the vector tool options). They create a path that you can transform and fill with color. Or, if you're in a hurry, you can choose the fill option in the Option Bar, but once you do so, they're back to being bitmapped. Cheers! there are vector based tools, but the mixing and matching of vector and pixel based tools defeats the purpose when it comes to output IMO.
