new text in PS 6
ok, so here's the thing. i have been requested to design the new website for my firm. i am doing all the preliminary work in photoshop 6 and i need to load a specific font into PS for the firm logo. it's very type specific. i have tried finding one similar, and i thought i had (mistral) but they're picky about that sort of thing. so, the question is how do i add a new font style to photoshop? simply load it into the text file? if so, where is that in the file structure for PS? any help would be awesome. thanks,

All the fonts available in Photoshop, are also the fonts available in Word, and in any other program that has some text-editing features, because these fonts are located on your pc. Mostly in the map C:/Windows/Fonts (or C:/WinNT/Fonts or ...)
If you have the correct font-file (extension TTF), you may want to add it in the Fonts-map. So open your Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and go to the Fonts-map. Choose menu File > Install new fonts... and follow the guidelines. See in the map to check the correct font-file was added. Now go to Photoshop and use that font, as you did with other fonts in the past. If you don't have the correct font, ask your firm for the font. If they want you to use that particular font, they have to provide it. |

is it a font or style you're trying to load? if it's a font, just follow the above advice while photoshop is NOT open. the next time you open photoshop, your new font will be there.
