Question paths from Illustrator to Photoshop

Greetings all.
There was a time when you could copy a path in Illustrator and paste it as a path in Photoshop.

I just can not seem to do it in the newer versions, am I missing something?

Thanx for any input you can give.

You can also copy the paths into a blank document, save as a psd (in illustrator)... and then open it up on Photoshop. It's a pain in the butt, but it works!
