Question Photoshop 7: PS4 +upgrade to v. 7 or full version?

Hi,

I want to get PS7, and was wondering if buying Photoshop 4.0 plus the upgrade to version 7 (USD 469), equates to getting the the full version of PS 7 (which I could get for USD 569).

Are there any undesired effects due to any unseemless upgrade procedures from an older version?

Also, do you know of any store where I can get it quite cheaper than 569 USD?

Cheers

Send a message via Yahoo to sardonyx
Why buy PS4 if you can buy PS7 or PS CS directly from Adobe Website?

You can try to send an email to technical support team of Adobe.com for more precise answer.

Thank and good day.

If that would work and you can get away saving some money, I'd say it's a good idea. But I have a feeling it won't upgrade seeing as there were 2 or 3 other versions inbetween.

That is precisely why I frown upon the prospect of upgrading from such an old version, hence the thread I started. I was hoping someone with some hands on experience of this matter could tell me.

On a sidenote; would the upgrade not be faulty if one couldn't work just as reliably and efficiently as a full product?

I have seen some sites selling PS CS for 606 bucks or so. So I might as well go for the latest PS... after all It's only a mere 37 USD difference.

Upgrades aren't really faulty and they're not really full versions either. Depending on the company and the product an upgrade could be something as simple as adding an edit feature and some other things people wouldn't really use *cough*RoboDemo*cough*

I'm sure the upgrade requirements and specs will be on the site.
The url should be www.adobe.com/products/photoshop
But a lot of the times upgrades just fix bugs and add a couple more features that weren't quite ready for the release date. I remember the upgrade from 5 -> 5.5 was nothing really, just a few extra things.

If you are going to be starting fresh I suggest just purchasing the complete version of PS7 or maybe getting a hold of PS8 (check out the price difference, if it's a lot go with 7, it will be good for a couple years still).

Adobe Photoshop Upgrade Policy
