Photoshop CS

Hi I am currently running Photoshop CS on my MAC OS X system. When I go to save a file which I have created, I only have a limited amount of options to save the file as.. these are;
- Photoshop
- Cineon
- Photoshop PDF
- Photoshop RAW
- PNG
- TIF

Im not sure how to fix this so I can save as other formats such as JPG, Ive tryed to change the file extension to .jpeg or .jpg, but people without Photoshop can not access it.
IF i open a jpeg image from my HD I select SAVE AS all options to save as come up, (jpg. bmp etc).
COULD someone please help?.. I need to design some graphics urgently..!!

I'm not sure if my advice here is useless because you already tried it... but:

a) have you tried "save for web" (not sure if CS still has this)

or b) have you flattened the image?

You need to flatten the image [menu: Image / Flatten Image - as far as I can remember] in order for it to save with anything else that doesnt support layers.

All layers will be removed, so if CS doesnt have the "save for web" option in the file menu then make a backup of your .psd file first.

It sounds more like a color mode problem. Are you RGB? CMYK?

Hope this helps.
