Question Photoshop Filters are missing

I recently posted a question (and answer) regarding photoshop 7 not loading. To get it to finally load, I had to clear the prefreneces. Somehow in doing so, I now only have a few filters available to me: Blur, Noise, Sharpen, Stylize and Other. No matter what I try, these are the only ones available. Please do not respond with "RGB" or "8-bit". I've posted at other forums and that's all that is offered. The filters still will not work with those settings. Also, does anyone know of a place to download the original filters that I'm missing? I don't care so much about the other fancy-smancy plugins, I just want my original filters back! Thanks

reinstall?

First off, thanks for the reply to my post...wasn't the problem, but thanks anyway. As you know, screwy stuff happens with programs. Are you running in Windows (XP?) or Mac? If Windows, sometimes that pref file gets messed up when you clear it and try to reinitialize. My advice would be (and I have done this more times than I care to discuss)...re-install Photoshop. Make sure the prefs file is copied to a different location so you can restore it later (if you want to). Then simply uninstall and reinstall PS. That should restore the filters. Further, if you have the install cd, you could try exploring it and finding the filters you want....

Hope this helps a bit

Chard

Thanks Chard! Sometimes the answer is so obvious it seems too easy to actually go through with! All i had to do was search the cd and voila! plugins!!!
