Photoshop: Glow Effect

Ok, I am coloring a picture in photoshop and I have several yellow areas. I want to use the glow effect on them to change them from red to the yellow already there, from the edge, in. Is there any way to do this? I know the gradient tool does something similar, but it does not conform to the edges like the glow does. Is there a way to do what I want with the glow? Or maybe force the gradient to attach to the edges? Thanks!

a gradient would probably work if you make a 'selection' of the areas you want the glow on. that, use the 'blending options' 'inner glow' effect with the area selected.

hope that helps.
