Photoshop - Help with actions
I'm looking for some help in automating an action in Photoshop (CS). I have a black and white conversion action that is pretty involved (9 steps, new layers created, etc.). One thing it does is create a new image to work off of. When I run the conversion as an automated action, it always brings up a box asking me to rename the file. All I want is for the file to be renamed the same as its original color file. In other words, saving over the original file is fine! However, since I automate hundreds of these at a time, I don't want to have to type in the file name of each image - I would be there for days! I had it working correctly once, but I just had to reinstall the program and now I can't figure it out. ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like your action is a Save As rather than a Save. Perhaps if you edited the action to change the "Save As" to a "Save", it would work. Is it possible you're trying to save something in an imcompatible format? |

Also might try sending the new images to a different location where they dont already exist..
