viewing the image in the print options window prior to printing i see the image very small in the preview window - the way it actually prints. all the settings for paper size are correct, and correct printers selected ect.
The only way i can print the image the correct size is to go into image size and - with all document size boxes linked, change the resolution of the image to 72dpi - and thus resizing the actual image size acordingly.
then when i go to print it, i get the A5 print i was aiming for.
I have taken the images from my mac and tried them on another computer but i get the same result when i print one of the images created on my computer, so I can only assume it must be something that is linked to the image
i am working on osx - although this i have discovered has no bearing on the result
Also it doesnt matter what image i create or what size it is i have the same problem.
this didnt happen several weeks ago, so it must be something that i have done to the settings in photoshop that i cannot remember and have no idea how to rectify...please help for my sanity |
It seems to me that you've taken an image that was created at 72 dpi and resized it to 300 dpi. This will cause the image to shrink, unless you resize the image with the Resample option set.
However: this will degrade image quality. You cannot CANNOT upsample an image and maintain quality. You can't take a picture from the web and expect it to print at high quality. Sorry, it just won't happen. It's the nature of digital imaging.
