photoshop7 what happened to export as gif from Photoshop 5.5

I am trying to learn Photoshop 7. I have been on 5.5 for years.
In 5.5 I could choose File...Export...as Gif, from the drop down menu.
In Photoshop 7 I don't have that option.Where is it now?

Also, about Illustrator 10... when I open a Photoshop file in Illustrator 10 and select the eyedropper tool I am unable to sample any color from the PSD file. What's the tric?
Thanks Scott

I save as /gifs by just doing Save As and picking compuserv gif, then if it needs to be shunk or anything(filesize) I do it in Imageready.

medialint agrees: That's all there is to it. Since it's COMPUSERV Gif format look under "C" in the alpha list, not "G"

Red face File transfers and handling - Photoshop, Illustrator, Image Ready

Hey, saw your query and know of a site that may help you . It also has a lot more that I found to be great for quick Q&A for these programs.

QUE PUBLISHING
quepublishing.com

Hope this helps or atleast leads you to the answer. As well, streamline is also a good file conversion program, but you may already know this.
Good luck!
