can anybody help with a suggestion for making a picture taken with a digital camera at 72dpi and changing it to 200 or 300dpi? I am trying to incorporate this photo in a logo that will be used for print. Thank you for ant suggestions

so, it is OK to take small pictures with little information and change the resolution higher? It seems like it worked, but it sounds impossible. It's tough to tell untill you print it. Thanks for the advice.

OK, this is something that should be put into a sticky.

You CANNOT upsize without shrinking the image size. If the picture is, say 4 x 6 at 72 DPI, the only way to make it 300 DPI and look good is to resize it to 0.96 x 1.44.

Otherwise, what you're pretty much saying is that you want to make a webcam to act like a 5 megapixel camera. Sorry, ain't gonna happen.

sorry, i read it wrong

i suggest to draw a new one based on the 72dpi version. Mostly it coasts not so much time

forget this drawing advice. I hope i'm awake now

If your photo from your digital have enough pixels than create a new ps-doc with the dimensions you need. place your photo in the file and correct the size normallt the 72 dpi is larger on screen. For the dimensions (pixel) of your ps-doc use ~30 % of the digital foto.

Why don't you try to make a vector illustration based on the low resolution picture? It might be more usefull for all kind of needs....It might be not so easy at first look...but it worth.

go to www.edynamo.com for more web design info

Best,
Fader

Thanks for the info, resizing the resolution works great if you're willing to shrink down your picture, which is whay I did.
Gracias.
