Problem with my background color
I have been using Photoshop on and off for a couple of years and have just come up against a problem with my background which has defaulted to bright pink!
I have looked through the Help section but to no avail - it suggests using the color picker or eyedropper. However, my whole Swatches palette is pink, black or green. Everything I open is obviously pink as well. I have tried unistalling and then reinstalling but the problem remains. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Either your photoshop is really messed up, or you're stuck in Quick Mask Mode.
This may be on the lines of the problem you are experiencing. "Overlay turns out reddish color". Read the replies there also and you may find your answer. hth, animgirl |

You're in RGB mode, right? If you're in Indexed Color mode with the right color table, then your swatches will change to the closest color in the table, as will your image pixels.

Problem still exists
Believe it or not I am still stuck with this pink nightmare!
I am in RGB mode, I am not in Quick Mask and the program opens with this pink color background. The left-hand toolbar shows black and pink and I do not seem able to lose that palette. I tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling but it isa still the same - aaaargghhhhhhhhhh! Any ideas please? |

hmm, not sure why you wouldnt be able to change your background palette... maybe try reversing the background and foreground palettes then change the pink.
