Problems with text

Ive just upgraded from 6 to CS and I'm having some problems using text.

When Im editing text I find that the last thing I do, be it typing a letter or dropping text down to the next line by pressing return, does not take effect until I change back to
the Move tool.

Even when I type 2 letters I can only ever see the first one until I click back onto the Move Tool and then the second appears.

Am I doing something wrong here or is this just a really annoying glitch?

So the text you're typing isn't visible unrasterized as you type it until switching to the move tool?

Is the text field large enough for the designated font size?

Text problem with Photoshop CS

thats right but its only the last letter that ive typed that isnt visible until i switch to the move tool.

the other connected issue is that if i click into a line of text (using the text tool) and then press return to drop it down to the next line, it produces a blank space on the next line down where the text should be and this only gets filled with the text when i switch to the move tool.

perhpas i could take a screen grab and email it to you? is there provision on this site to view images?

thanks for your help

In the advanced reply window below is a Manage Attachments button. Should you not have any luck with that, you could upload it to Image Shack and post a link.

i use photoshop 7.01 and have the same problem.
also...when you backspace to remove some typing...then type some more...it whacks out the text until you finishing using the text tool.
