In version 6+, all you'd need to do is to put the object on it's own layer, then go to Layer > Layer Style > Stroke and set the color and thickness you'd like. |

A small drop shadow (available from the same stlye dialog box) can also be quite effective as an alternative, or as an extra to a stroke.

I didn't look at the picture before I read your post, RHS, but don't you also think the drop shadow in the original may be a little contrasting with the red text? Using a black outer glow gives a real nice result, almost like a shadow, but without the angle. |

If you'd prefer to add an outline without making it a style than you could select your shape, go to Select > Modify > Contract. Once there, set the amount of pixels you'd like to go in from the outside. Next, fill the now selected inner region to whatever color you'd like, and then select the outside to change the border color.
A bit extensive, but it has it's benefits and usefullness. G'luck. |

Yes - your'e right. Also, I think that the shadow on the name should be a little more discreet. Maybe up the opacity and lower the distance, as well as the size. |

Jeremy Rucker Drinks hot Tea. try it today!
I always do the: menu) edit > stroke
make sure that you have the right color selected and make sure that you have the thing selected (in marching ants) you could go: (menu) Layer > load selection to do that Quote:
