Question About Marquee Tool?

I am using Photoshop 6.0 and have the Rectangular Marquee Tool. But some times i need to fill color in a circular shape. or use a cirucular highlighter.
So is their any other tool for that or can I change the settings to make it circular? Or is their any other way to achieve that goal?

Thanx 4 reading my problem. hope u reply it

Select Shape Tool
Then select the circle icon in it.

If you can't find it, try right-clicking on the shape tool and then select the circle icon.

Hmmm... why don't you switch in PS 7? I think you can easily do this stuff with that version.

Hope that helps.

Photoshop 6 has those features as well. I'm pretty sure version 3 had them, too.

Hasn't photoshop had an "Elliptical Marquee Tool" tool since the very early versions.

Why not just use that instead of the rectangular marquee. And if you want a perfect circle, under style select fixed aspect ratio.

Although you could just use the shape tool as already suggested. If you want a perfect circle with the shape tool hold down SHIFT when dragging a circle.

You'd want the Stroke for that.
1. First, create a New Layer in the Layer Palette to put your unfilled circle on.
2. Create a circular selection using the marquee tool
3. Choose the Edit Menu
4. Choose Stroke.
5. In the dialog that comes up, pick your stroke width (how thick of a stroke you want), the color of the stroke, and whatever other options you want from the dialog.

For more photoshop tutorials (with pix), check out my site below.
Cheers!
