Remove All But Text
Can anyone show me how to remove EVERYTHING in a picture except for 1 layer which happens to be rasterized text. I want the picture to have no backround whatsoever, only this layer showing. I have no clue how to remove the backround area since deleting the backround layer doesn't do anything.

trying hitting the eye on the layer that you dont want to use!!,
Or start a new file with a transparent backround then drag the layer(rasterized text) over to the new file from the old one.

Make sure the layer you're trying to delete is neither hidden or locked. Then you can merge all of the other layers by clicking on it and then going to the > at the top right of the Layers panel and selecting Merge Down. Or you can do Flatten Image and create text seperatly after deleting the flattened mix.

Well, this isn't what I was trying to do. By the way, KenPad, making a Layer invisible is the same as deleting it only it still exists. When I saved my image as JPEG and created it as an icon (with Icon Developer), it came out as a white box with a word on it. This is not what I wanted, I wanted just the words, not white backround, nothing. I do not need help with this anymore, I decided to take out the words and make a new kind of icon. Thanks anyways.

jpeg's don't do transparent layers...save as png or gif.

Well its not the same so!!!,, Deleting something will destroy the pixels,, taking of the visibility of a layer keeps the pixels in its original form!! So its NOT the same!! |
