rollover image
I have created a round icon. I want the button to look like it has been pressed in on mouseover. Ideally with a shadow like ring appearing around the whole button. But i cannot seem to put a shadow all around the image only at different angles?
any help please Thanks Harv |

Here's what you do: If you round button is flattened to one layer, go to Layer > Duplicate Layer. Now go to Layer > Layer Styles > Color Overlay and select black on your new layer. Now, with the new layer selecter, hold Ctrl and click on the layer from the Layers Pallet. This will select the image in the layer. Now, hit Ctrl-T to transform the image. Hold Shift and Alt while dragging a corner. This will keep the image shape locked and keep it centered. When you're happy with your size, hit enter. Now hit Ctrl-D to deselect. Now put the original layer on top of your new layer. Select the new layer from the layer pallet (but don't do a Ctrl-Click) and go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Adjust the slider until it's where you like, then hit enter. You may need to do this a few times to get it perfect. |

Rollover project...
Harv,
I have created a small Photoshop doc(900k) for you that has four layers and would do well for your rollover button project. Let me know if you would like me to e-mail it to you? You can go right into Image ready with it and go from there. Are you on a Mac? -Don |
