Rounded corners with drop shadow/ saving transparent .gif
hello, i am trying to take an image from photoshop which is a rounded square bascially with a drop shadow (partly transparent). basically i will put HTML 'inside of' it (kinda like so
http://www.alistapart.com/d/customcorners/step5.html). I need to save the transparent image i made as a gif. then slice it up. but i cant even get it to save as a gif correctly. i save it with transparency but it seems to show a white Matte even though i dont have a Matte setting in Save for Web dialog. I beleive it might be because i have blending on 1 layer to get that drop shadow effect, maybe it needs to be converted to another type of layer be4 exporting?. or maybe it might be an export option i forgot abotu although i tried them all? i'm using photoshop CS. Thanks if anyone can help. file is attached. |

try merging all of your layers together, and then saving for web like that. that might do it.
hope that helps.

Hey man, gifs MUST a matte. You cant get the kind of 24 bit transparency you are thinking about, or so I assume. The only kind of gifs that look good with transparency are square no shadowed images. Your best bet is to set your matte to the same color as your bg, other than that you cant do it man sorry. png 24 is the best thing, but not all browsers support it so its not a good idea.
