Save for web not working
I just installed PS CS and went to save a graphic, went to Save for web. Everything works until when I try to save the file, then I get an error message that says:
"This operation could not be completed. file not found." I have the Save for web 8 prefs in the right spot. (I've been doing some searching on this) I don't know which "file" it's referring too. AAny help as always is appreciated.

Hmmm ... must be an Adobe thing. Distiller/PDF Writer do that to me a lot. Usually I end up having to reboot.

Naw, tried that. I wish I knew which damned file it wants. It seems silly that it would need a file to save.

Hi There,
Did you just try this on one picture? If so, create a new picture and saving that one to web while it is stilll empty. Regards, Sander Meilink |

Yes I've tried it with several and they all won't work. I am going to try saving it in ImageReady, although I have worked with photoshop for years and it's so easy to do the save for web.
It hurts. ![]() |

Okay this seems to be more of a system problem than a phtoshop problem. I just recently had an OS X problem after an update and had to wipe out my old account and transfer everything to a new one.
I forgot about this and should have posted that the problem started with PS 7 but it was on the day that I got CS so I just uninstalled it and threw on CS, but the problem is still there. Here is what I've figured out and it would've been better to post this all together: The file in question that PS can't find is never stated. ImageReady doesn't work either. Illustrator will save for web, but it isn't CS, it's 10. I hardly ever use it though, so I've not had a problem with it. The problem occurs in every account, even root. I thought that it might be a preferences thing and I have rebuilt the preference files several times. I put PS 7 back on and it did the same thing. I've reinstalled CS 3 times and still does the same thing. I can "Save As" in PS to make JPGs and well any web file but I can't save sliced images(YIKES!). I've created a new account and the problem is still there. I haven't messed with ANY SYSTEM files, just User preference files. I think that this is more of an OS problem now, can this be moved to an os forum, please? I don't want to double post. Thanks to anyone for any help, Jack |

To anyone that this might have happened to:
I don't know what it was, I had backed up just the program of PS 7 to disk instead of the whole folder. Whatever the system problem was it carried over to PS 7 & PS CS. I found my full version of PS7 and reinstalled it. FIXED IT! |

Save for web...working
I just found this on the Adobe User to User Forum
"Go to Users/Username/Library/Preferences and remove com.appleLaunchServices.plist. You can trash it or if you wish save it but don't put it back." I'm not sure what other consequences this may have, but it worked. |
