Saving as image from Adobe Illustrator document

I have an illustrator document (can't post url b/c posting guidelines) that has a lot of symbols on it from the national parks service.

I'd like to "grab" the symbols from the illustrator document and save them as images (png). When I click on them, it looks like they are vector graphics (many points turn blue, and several icons at once), and I'm not sure how to grab one icon and save it as an image. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks for your time,

Sounds like their are several objects grouped together. try ungrouping them. then copy each to a new page. -- you may have to create new page that is the appropriate dimensions for your icon.
