Trouble with layers!
Hi All, I have created a (picture) file using some photos and a lot of text each on a different layer. Now I need to cut about 30 layers (one square box) and move them to a different spot on this picture. The only way I seem to be able to do this is only if I first “Flatten Image” or “Merge Visible” Issue: once I do the flatten or merge I can no longer edit the picture! Is there a way to merge only the selected area? Or what’s the real way of doing this? Thanks in advance for any help! P.S. what is the difference between “Flatten Image” and “Merge Visible” ? (they seem to be doing the same thing) |

If you just want to move the layers and still be able to edit them, you need to link the ones you want to move.
To link layers, click on the first layer name, then click on the empty box (next to the eye icon) of the layer that you want to link which will give you a 'chain' icon. If you dont want to edit them after you move hem you can 'merge visible' but you need to hide the layers that you want left alone. Do this by clicking the eye icon to the left of the layer name. Clicking Merge visible will then merge only the visible layers. Once you have merged them, you can show the other layers again by clicking the where the eye icon was to bring it back. |

Thanks again! I wanted to be able to edit layers after the move linking was the way to go...
You saved me some time! |
