unlock a layer
I have a .psd button that has a lot of drop shadow and other affects on it. Somehow this layer has become locked.
There is the little padlock beside the layer name with the popup "Indicates layer is partially locked." I need to change the text and color of the button, but I can't. Is there anyway to unlock the layer so I don't have to try to create a whole new one? The Lock: menu at the top of the layers tab is all greyed out (inactive). Thanks |

This can happen when you start with a picture in photoshop. It locks out all changes to the original, just for safekeeping i guess. You can duplicate the layer and then work on the new one.

Can't unlock BMP to layer
After opening this one BMP image I get A "partially locked" message and cannot unlock or even duplicate or copy to add too another PSD. And the same after saving as .PSD.
(it is a skin for a 3-d model in a flight sim). However if i open a .BMP picture it will allow me to double-click lock icon, change to layer, and transfer to other documents...whats going on here, and what do i have to do to unlock my .BMP? Thanks. |
