what tool will let me move on object..?

seee www.*****.com. I am trying to change this to win50k from Zip-P..I need to move the lightning bolt over..layer # 18..but I cannot grab and move the object with the hand tool..The help does not offer a simple answer to a very basic operation. Just want to move the lighting bolt to the right a bit..help ???..yes I think something this simple should be idot proof - and work like powerpoint...or the tool is too complex in my book...

Hey Irvinedave,

Check the image is in RGB mode (image-> Mode->RGB Image).

Make sure the lightning layer is not linked to any other. Click on the layer, hit ctrl+V to select the move tool and drag to where you want it.

Hope this helps

ATB

The layer was locked? It may have been the background layer when the image was created. Unlikely, but possible.

just so you know, the 'hand' tool doesn't let you grab or move specific layers or objects, it just moves your page/point of reference if you're zoomed in.

And, by the way - this is a professional tool. If you want something 'idiot proof' buy Paint Shop Pro.
