A nicely formatted email message using php

Is there a way to send a nicely formatted email using php? This would include a column of information staying in the column. I have been using tabs to line up the outgoing info, but if a previous piece of data is to big (price for example) it pushes everything over by one tab (not acceptable).

You can use HTML in your email, or you can find the longest item in a column and add two or three spaces to the end, then keep that length in a variable and for each other item, add that number of spaces minus the length of the item... understand what I mean?
