    Adding multi-bytes regex support...

    Hi!

I need to add UTF-8 support to the regex used in an (mainly Linux) app I work on and I have a couple of questions.

    - Is the package to add multi-byte support needed to use the /u switch of the preg calls?

    - Is the support for multi-byte always in a separate package or is it sometimes bundled in the same package?

    Thank you!

I don't believe you need mbstring - just a compile-time (for the PHP source code) setting to enable it. Which damn near every installation should have.

Thank you! I tried it here and it works. I'll send a diff file to somebody else who can try it more thoroughly...

    Thank you!
