I can't find the php.ini in debian etch

Hi people, I'm using debian etch, I already installed apache+php5, I want to activate some modules for php, specifically the mysqli, so I tried to locate my php.ini but I didn't found (I used find / -name 'php.ini' and whereis php.ini).

I also did a phpinfo() and everytring it works, in fact phpinfo() said that the configuration file is in the path: /etc/php5/apache, I seek in this directory but there isn't there, so what is going on? where is my php.ini? can you help me?

    thanks a lot

The file doesn't actually have to exist for PHP to run. If the phpinfo page says it's /etc/php5/apache/php.ini, then that is where to put the file so that PHP will recognize it.

Your PHP distro should come with a file like "php.ini.recommended" or something like that. Copy it to /etc/php5/apache/php.ini and edit away.
