PHP5 - Database connection affects page layout

i am back again.

i am developing a php page that connects to oracle via oci. but it is causing layout problem. it looks like page is not fully executing.

but when i doesn't connect to database , the page layout is perfectly fine.

well, so what's your question? We can hardly tell you the reason for the error when all we know is "some database connection code causes some layout problems on some website".

here is the code

if ($connect = oci_connect("slerp", "admin", "192.168.0.100/rdb")) {
echo "Successfully connected to Oracle.<br>";
//oci_close($c);
} else {
$err = oci_error();
echo "Oracle Connect Error " . $err['text']. var_dump( oci_error() );
}

when i comment this code, the page runs fine.

What does the code say? "successfully connected"? "error"? Neither?

What errors messages do you get? If you've accidentally turned them off, turn them on again with error_reporting(-1).

Please do some basic work yourself and give us concrete info. Remember that we're not psychic, and we don't have access to your server to test the code.

the code says . successfully connected to oracle.

its working well now. i replaced oci_connect with oci_pconnect
