    Database to Google Map

Hi, I am thinking of developing a webpage that will show points on google map from a database I have. Basically what I have in mind is this, I have a list of data with addresses/coordinates and I plan to have a script to select 5-6 of these data point based on a set of conditions which will then show on google map that is embedded on my webpage.

So the few questions I have are
    1. from database (MySQL or SQLite) to google map, is PHP the language of choice?
    2. Might belong to another tread: does it matter what database I am using?

p.s i will be hiring a developer but I will need to figure these basic questions first. Thanks!!
