    As the database is always being updated with new values each hour, how would I go about creating a dynamic chart, graph or some other format that reads from the database and display the activity of the user effectively? Any code examples would be much appreciated too, thanks in advance.

    There are a variety of graphing libraries that you could use to do this. flot and HighCharts are two JavaScript options. These tend to be the best options, but there are also PHP libraries like jpgraph that can generate graphs.

    I like Sencha's Ext (a javascript library), here are some of their examples

    Liv update when you edit the data on page

    Live update graph from server

    These are examples; and a combination of the two could be what you're looking for. their SDK has working PHP examples of some of their samples
    I said I didn't like ORM!!! <?php $this->model->update($this->request->resources[0])->set($this->request->getData())->getData('count'); ?>
