    Hi!

I'm working on a site where I want to keep a pricelist on overclocking equipment. I therefore need some sort of database driven application which can hold all the prices and get them when needed, sorted after price!

I am going to be hosted at a host which supports cgi, asp, php and MySQL.

I haven't done any PHP scripting just yet, but have started looking through DevShed's material. But I really could use some help .

I am studying computer science so I will get to know PHP and MySQL fairly quickly, but as I said, I could use some help...

The site is http://www.ocprices.com and you can contact me at ocprices@ocprices.com or marjor@nameplanet.com.

    Thanks...

    1. Get a copy of phpMyAdmin from phpwizard.net and install it on the server you're moving to.

    2. Create your MySQL database and a table for each of those types of products/offerings you have listed. The nice thing about phpMyAdmin is that it has links to the full MySql documentation.

    3. Input or import your data. (You can import it in seconds if it's in a delimited text file.)

    4. Write one or more PHP scripts to retrieve and display the data on your web page(s).

As you go through these steps, and get stuck, come back to this forum and ask specific questions about how to do a particular thing. People will help.

    Good luck.

    Thanks for the reply.

Actually, the web host I am thinking of being hosted at already has phpMyAdmin installed, so I'll try and take it from there.

I'll certainly come back for help . And what a great place this is for that.
