PHP5 - How to add utf8mb4_sinhala_ci to phpmyadmin?

hi i have a hosted web site in a linux server. in that site i want to display something in sinhala language. but in that servers phpmyadmin i can't find utf8mb4_sinhala_ci collation. so i want to add it. how can i do that?

this isn't really a php question..its more of a mysql question.[i think]

what version of mysql is your server using?
From doing some reading, it looks like mysql6.0 has added the sinhala character set/collation setting into it. But, I'm not finding any way to actually add that support into an existing mysql5.0/5.1/5.5 version server.

EDIT: Well, it appears I didn't use the correct search terms.

It appears to me that that language is not supported for phpmyadmin. However, if DonR is correct and you are looking for language support for MySQL then you should have this thread moved to the MySQL forum (click the red triangle in the upper right).
