Hi everybody,

I would like to check for the existance of a flash plugin using PHP instead of JavaScript.
Any ideas ?

I might get corrected on this, but i dont think that is possible. you might be able to see if the server you are running your site on has flash, but since php is run on the server and flash is something on the client i dont think it will work. Why do you want to do it in php instead of javascript?

I think I get why you want PHP instead of JS.

Why don't you write a one-time Javascript that will put a cookie on the user's side if Flash is enabled, then have PHP check for that cookie and act accordingly?
