Is php suitable for developing component?

Dear everybody,

I am developing a new version of PhpDB, which will support most database universally including MySQL, Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, ODBC ....
I would like to do some feature very much like ASP/ADO in my PhpDB, for example:

$rs = new RecordSet();
$sql = "SELECT f1 FROM xxx ";
$rs->open( $sql, "server=xxx;driver=mysql;database=xxx");
echo $rs["f1"];
echo $rs->fields["f1"];
echo $rs->fields["f1"]->value;

The output yields same result even according to different programming style.

PhpDB also need to support the following programming style:

$sql = "SELECT f1, f2, f3 FROM table1 WHERE f4=yyy";
$rs->open( $sql, "server=xxx;driver=mysql;database=xxx");
$rs["f1"] = "hello";
$rs["f2"] = "hello 2";
$rs["f3"] = "hello 3";
$rs->update();

What i know to accomplish such feature, the language should support default property in OOP (like Delphi), operator
overloading (like C++), collection (like VB).

When php will provide such feature?

See,, you can create the class files and intilize that in your php program.So you can use the script like what you have mentioned earlier.
