If you still have Win98 on the first partition and you want to make it the default boot, then you'd have to:
1. Get a windows 98 boot disk with the Fdisk command on it.
2. Remove the Linux partition by starting up the Linux CD-ROM in expert mode, and choosing to run linux FDISK, instead of the GUI version. Restart the computer when you have removed the partition. Why? Windows FDISK will not remove the linux partitions.
3. Boot with the Win98 disk. Run FDISK /MBR to restore the Master Boot Record!
