    Is it possible with mod re-write to show "anything" in address bar?

    Hi;

    Is it possible to show "www.somesite.com" when visitors visit any pages located in www.anothersite.com/directory_a/?

    Thank you

    Not with mod_rewrite. You'd have to setup a proxy.

    Can you write me something like that if I pay you? Prettttty deseperate on this. Ads are going out and don't have time to read on this.

    I need this to happen:

    1 - Visitors type www.site.com in address bar,
    2 - The get redirected to www.another_site.com/directory_one BUT in address bar they still see www.site.com.

    There maybe a few other pages too. Pages like
    1 - www.site.com/index.php/page which obviously shows the content of www.another_site.com/directory_one/index.php/page

    2 - www.site.com/page which obviously shows the content of www.another_site.com/directory_one/page

    More details:
    1 - Visitors type www.site.com in address bar, in home directory of site.com I upload a simple php script with header (already have that) and redirect and send them to www.another_site.com/directory_one and in the address bar I want to show www.site.com while I am showing the content of www.another_site.com/directory_one.

    Would you please message and let me know asap if you want to do this or not?

    Thank you

    Not much to write, just a simple apache configuration setup.
    Code:
    <VirtualHost *:80>
        ServerName site.com
        ServerAlias www.site.com
        ProxyPass / http://www.another-site.com/
    </VirtualHost>

    Alternatively, if you control both domains/sites and they are on the same server, then you can just configure the server to respond to both domains with the same set of files, rather than have to run a proxy.

    Note that these solutions pretty much require you to have either a VPS or dedicated hosting with control over the server. If you're using shared hosting you'll need to either contact your host to see if they will work with you to configure it, or use frame-based domain masking

    Sorted:
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://site_b.com.au/directory_b/$1 [L,P]
