Is there any way to enter mySQL commands without a telnet account? I'm trying to do something simple like creating a table, but I can't find a PHP function for that.

Would something like this work?
$createTable = "CREATE TABLE cover ( ";
$createTable .= "first_name VARCHAR (25), ";
$createTable .= "last_name VARCHAR (25))";

If it works then it works. Yes I think it should work.
BTW you can get a thing called phpMyAdmin from http://phpwizard.net/projects/phpMyAdmin/ and all you need to do is change a few settings in one file and it gives you easy access to mySQL

Hmm that apparently worked, but I obviously didn't get the list_tables function to work. I loaded phpmyadmin and it showed my cover..
thanks for the recommendation of the script, this looks a lot easier than what I was trying to do...
