I'm trying to move a database from one machine to another by doing a mysql dump in phpMyAdmin and get a message in the last line of the sql file " Fatal error: Maximum execution time exceeded in lib.inc.php3 on line 287. This tells me that not all the data has been converted to the sql file. Does anyone know how to increase the maximum time?

Usually the server or browser will only give so long for a script to execute, if it exceeds that time, it assumes something is wrong. it may just be taking too long to transfer your database, and the script is timing out. how large of a database is it? i'm not sure if there is a way to change this limit through php or javascript code. it's usually a user preference setting.

It's a large database I was hoping to find something in the phpMyAdmin code that controlled it.

Can you split it up and do part at a time? I don't think you can change the timeout limit of the browser. Do you have command line access? I could tell you how to do it from the command line...
